Fair Compensation"

The traveling students night time accountability is paramount for any traveling group. We understand that many student tour companies promise private night time security guards to stand in hotel hallways, but hire STUDENT WATCHERS instead. Prior to the owner changing the company's name, we were working for his unlicensed Security Guard Company, NATIONS CAPITOL SECURITY. We acknowledge that we are not licensed security guards, but we perform a very important service in which we believe a fair level of compensation should be made in return for our services. We are not seeking to bankrupt the company nor are we attempting to have the owner close down, we simply are negotiating an increase in our hourly wage to justify the importance of the work we provide in assuring no student is harmed during the late night and early morning hours when parents, tour guides and teachers are asleep.

We come to you for support because we wish not to exercise our rights under the National Labor Relations Board Act. We have the support of a national labor union to assist us in the negotiations with the owner of this company, but it is evident that he refuses to negotiate in good faith. The labor union has presented legal options for us as workers to exercise, but we wish to address our issues with the traveling schools prior to us taking our legal labor actions. We wish not to strike, walk off your hotel floors during the evening hours or simply do not report to any hotel to provide services. The students should never be placed in such a position, but our attempts to have a fair compensation structure agreed upon with the owners of your student travel company and the owner of STUDENT WATCHERS have left us very few options to pursue. Should the workers agree with the labor organization and order a strike, we wish that all involved understand that we have made every good faith attempt to settle our matter without involving the traveling students and schools. We wish that your assistance will avoid such an option
